Cory McKenzie was raised and grew up in Wiradjuri Country (Griffith NSW). He has been an artist for 15+ years in exhibitions and art dealings nationally and internationally. Painting, creating, gathering and making artefacts and ensuring the safety and protection of all native animals and their environment is installed in his very nature. He draws his inspiration from the land and its natural beauty and from the Elders who passed down the knowledge of plants and animals to him. The land and animals taught him so much and he depicts these lessons, stories and journeys in his artworks.
From discussions with Cory we have decided to place trees in southern country less affected by bushfire and wait until the fire season breaks and commence a large scale healing process on Wiradjuri country.
